Fowler White Burnett's Matthew J. Valcourt Named Florida Bar Board Certified Committee for Admiralty and Maritime Law Chairman

Fowler White Burnett today announced that Matthew J. Valcourt has been named chairman of the Florida Bar Board Certification Committee for Admiralty and Maritime Law.

Matthew Valcourt, who works in the firm’s Miami office, handles transactions and litigation involving commercial and pleasure vessels. 

The Florida Bar Board Certification Committee for Admiralty and Maritime Law is the committee that sets the standards and prepares the exam for board certification in admiralty and maritime law. 

He is a member of The Florida Bar’s Trial Law Section and Admiralty Law Committee.  Valcourt is also a member of the Cuban American Bar Association, the Maritime Law Association, Southeastern Admiralty Law Institute, Counsel of American Master Mariners, Fort Lauderdale Mariner’s Club, the Propeller Club, Port of Tampa, the Massachusetts Maritime Alumni Association Advisory Board, and the Fort Lauderdale Mariner’s Club. 

Valcourt holds a law degree from New England Law and a bachelor’s degree from Massachusetts Maritime Academy and is a USCG Licensed Master.
