Alexander Monje is an associate in the firm's Commercial Litigation Practice Group. Alex focuses his practice in the areas of business, securities, and labor & employment, including non-compete agreements, and litigation. Alex represents domestic and international clients in both State and Federal Courts and he is admitted to practice in all Florida state courts, the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida, and the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida.

Alex received his Juris Doctor from the University of Miami School of Law where he graduated cum laude and was a member of the Investor Rights Clinic, Startup Practicum (Clinical Fellow), Mock Trial Team, and Zurich Exchange Program. He also received the CALI Award for Excellence for achieving the highest grade in Mediation and in Corporate Compliance. During his time in law school, he also served as a judicial intern for Justice R. Fred Lewis of the Florida Supreme Court. Prior to becoming an attorney, Alex worked in asset management at a buldge bracket investment bank.

Representative Matters

  • Saade v. Insel Air, No. 17-22003-CIV, 2018 WL 1886575, at *1 (S.D. Fla. Mar. 2, 2018)

  • Represented Insel Air International B.V., in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida in a class action lawsuit filed by five South Florida law firms on behalf of plaintiffs seeking well over $5 million against Insel Air, a private commercial Dutch Caribbean airline. The class action lawsuit alleged a breach of contract claim over an $80 “exit fee” which plaintiffs claimed had been wrongfully charged to tens of thousands of passengers that traveled from Miami International Airport to Venezuela on Insel Air flights.
