Fowler White Burnett Shareholder Avery Dial presented to the Business Law for Entrepreneurs class at the University of Miami School of Business. The presentation, “Data Breach and Privacy,” outlined common data/privacy threats, recent data breaches, legal framework, and ways for businesses to minimize legal exposure and be prepared if they are breached.
Dial focuses his practice on commercial litigation, professional liability, insurance, intellectual property, product liability, and wrongful death litigation. He defends and prosecutes business matters including breach of contract, civil theft, conversion, breach of warranties, statutory violations, fraudulent business practices, data privacy, and professional liability (including attorneys, directors and officers, and insurance brokers).
In addition, Dial litigates complex insurance coverage matters involving business litigation, data privacy, transportation, intellectual property, and professional liability claims. Also, Avery litigates commercial and residential real estate matters including title claims, foreclosures, landlord tenant disputes, and breaches of contract on behalf of title insurers, banks, tenants, and property owners.
