Fowler White Burnett’s Charles De Leo Appointed Vice Chair of Maritime Torts and Casualties Committee
Fowler White Burnett today announced that Charles De Leo has been appointed vice chair of the Maritime Torts and Casualties Committee of the Maritime Law Association of the United States.
De Leo, a managing shareholder of the firm, has nearly 30 years of experience practicing in the area of maritime law. Specifically, he focuses on the representation of vessel owners and operators, protection and indemnity clubs and other marine insurers. De Leo counsels international and domestic clients on a wide range of maritime matters. He holds a law degree from Tulane University Law School and a bachelor’s degree from Pomona College, University of California.
The Maritime Torts and Casualties Committee of the Maritime Law Association of the United States monitors substantive and procedural legal issues arising from all kinds of marine casualties, including collisions, personal injuries and death. It follows developments in all aspects of maritime law which affect liabilities arising from casualties, including exoneration of or limitation of liability and claimants' rights to file claims. Additionally, it advises of developments affecting rights of injured maritime personnel.
