Practice Focus

Ashley is an Associate in the firm’s Fort Lauderdale office where she focuses her practice in the areas of construction, commercial litigation, maritime and insurance-related matters.  She has a strong background in general liability, and represents insurance companies in cases ranging from professional liability, bodily injury and property damage, among others. Ashley believes communication, preparation and tenacity are the keys to effective representation. She routinely handles cases in both state and federal court, and also believes alternative dispute resolution can be an efficient and cost-effective way to defend her clients’ interests.

Ashley’s insurance-related experience includes a broad range of matters and policies such as commercial, business, professional liability, excess, umbrella, automobile, healthcare, directors and officers, homeowner, property, and marine policies. She also handles coverage disputes—from providing coverage evaluations and opinions to handling and prosecuting declaratory judgment and rescission actions. Ashley further defends and counsels carriers in first-party and third-party bad faith/extra-contractual claims and litigation.

She regularly counsels clients in employment-related matters and disputes regarding general business issues. Her experience includes counseling employers and helping them avoid litigation by providing advice in conjunction with internal investigations and compliance review.

In the construction field, Ashley has significant experience in construction defect matters, including the representation of contractors and subcontractors. In addition, she has worked for various companies and insurance carriers involving subrogation actions in the construction arena.

Ashley received her Juris Doctor degree from the Shepard Broad Law Center at Nova Southeastern University, cum laude. She served as Chief Justice of the Moot Court Society and competed in the National Appellate Advocacy Competition. She also received her Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Family & Child Science from Florida State University.
