Since beginning his career as an attorney for a major insurance company, James has focused his practice on complex, high-exposure litigation. At Fowler White Burnett, he concentrates his practice on toxic tort litigation. James has represented leading manufacturers, distributors, insurers and retailers in the defense of claims involving personal injury, wrongful death, negligence, conspiracy and failure to warn, among numerous others.
An experienced civil litigator, James frequently serves as local counsel for multi-district litigation. He has handled cases involving a variety of hazardous materials, including asbestos, benzene, pesticides, silica, Chinese drywall and excessive radiation, as well as the diseases commonly associated with such exposure.
A broad understanding of medical, science and toxicology issues, coupled with superior trial skills, enables James to efficiently handle and resolve cases from individual actions to mass tort litigation. Clients also benefit from his ability to successfully interact on their behalf with state and federal regulatory agencies and criminal authorities.
