A managing shareholder of Fowler White Burnett, Charles De Leo practices in the area of maritime law, with a particular emphasis on the representation of vessel owners and operators, protection and indemnity clubs and other marine insurers. With nearly 30 years of experience, Mr. De Leo counsels international and domestic clients on a wide range of maritime matters.
Mr. De Leo’s litigation work encompasses a variety of maritime areas, including hull and cargo, natural resource damage, product liability, collision, personal injury and wrongful death. He is frequently involved with major marine casualty and environmental claims throughout the U.S. and the Americas. Having grown up in Latin America, he enjoys native fluency in both written and spoken Spanish.
Mr. De Leo is also active in international arbitrations and regularly practices before federal, state and local governmental agencies such as the United States Coast Guard, U.S. Customs and Border Protection and the Florida Department of Natural Resources.
