A Shareholder and an experienced appellate advocate, June Hoffman chairs the firm’s Appellate Practice Group and focuses exclusively on appellate matters, litigation support and trial counseling. Being Board Certified in Appellate Practice by The Florida Bar, June has litigated appellate matters in Florida’s District Courts of Appeal, the Florida Supreme Court and the Federal Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals. She has served as lead appellate counsel in hundreds of civil appellate proceedings and has been the primary author of several hundred briefs, including petitions for extraordinary writs, merits briefs and amicus briefs.  June has also briefed and argued cases concerning insurance coverage, medical malpractice and family law issues.

Practice Focus

June’s appellate practice includes the representation of clients in high-profile matters and high-stakes litigation. Most recently, she successfully represented the Executor of the Estate of Anna Nicole Smith in expedited, nationally televised appellate proceedings in Florida and presented the winning argument to support affirmance despite analytical error in the trial court's decision.

In addition, June provides litigation support and appellate counseling to trial attorneys during every phase of litigation to optimize the clients’ position and develop effective strategies for trial counsel. At the trial court level, she has actively participated in jury trial consulting, preparation and presentation of dispositive motions, motions in limine and motions for summary judgment, as well as preservation of error issues. June’s involvement at the start of the case ensures that legal issues are well-positioned for a successful outcome, whether in the trial court or on appeal.

With over 20 years of experience, June has participated in jury trials and appellate proceedings involving a broad range of disciplines. She is also well-versed in the areas of tort and insurance law, with particular emphasis on claims regarding medical malpractice, products liability, wrongful death and personal injury.

A current member of the Executive Council of The Florida Bar’s Appellate Practice Section, June is a frequent guest lecturer to the legal community and South Florida law schools on topics related to appellate practice.
