James DeChurch focuses his civil litigation practice on claims involving catastrophic injury. He represents companies and major insurance carriers against a wide variety of claims, including professional liability, personal injury, wrongful death and products liability. A skilled trial attorney with more than 10 years of experience, James regularly litigates cases in state and federal courts, as well as before administrative agencies and in alternative dispute resolution forums.
A significant portion of his practice involves the defense of hospitals, doctors and other health care providers in medical malpractice claims. In this area, James’ extensive knowledge of medical fields and health care regulations is of particular importance to clients and helps achieve favorable outcomes. He has served as lead counsel for a major South Florida medical school in both litigation and regulatory proceedings. In addition, James assists hospitals and health care professionals with loss prevention and risk management counseling.
